Desert Art Villa

A collaborative project with artist and gallerist Marina Baisel for Rarares, conceived as a light-filled interior where architecture and contemporary art exist in dialogue.

Defined by natural materials, desert tones, and precise geometric gestures, the space creates a calm yet expressive backdrop for art.

The dining room’s tour de force is a vintage chandelier selected by Marina Baisel and brought from the old continent for this project.

For Desert Art Villa we emphasized natural materials and a calm palette, all combined with vintage art and design pieces.

The seating room is a more private version of the living room that creates a cozy space for the family.

The combination of iconic design pieces such as Cassina Chairs and carefully selected art pieces by Rarares gallery create a timeless look that also happens to retain a strong character. We believe that timeliness and character are never at odds.

We combined wooden textures with different types of fabric in shades of beige in order to accentuate the brightness of the room.

Art, all carefully curated by Rarares Gallery, is a staple of this project. You can find it everywhere, from the staircases to the kitchen.

The hall on the first floor exemplifies our intention to contrast shapes and colors.

Our favorite part of the house is definitely the master bedroom. We filled it with peaceful creamy tones and rich natural textures in order to create an atmosphere of relaxation.

The sculptural hanging light is part of Marina Basil’s collectible collection. Apart from the sleeping area, the master bedroom has a small lounge. Light is a key protagonist, both natural and artificial.

Even the carpets are works of art. They give a bit of contrast and character to the serene atmosphere.

While the reconstruction was out of scope (which meant we had to work with the window frames already in place) we were able to create a neutral but playful atmosphere in this kid’s room that fits the theme of the project.
